Wrap Up of Flex some Cold Beer and ColdFusion Event

Thanks to all who attended the June 17th “Flex some Cold Beer and ColdFusion event held at Mahalo in Santa Monica, CA. Over 50 people attended the event as Joshua Adams showed off some of the hottest new features of the upcoming ColdFusion 9 and Flex 4 releases. In addition, Josh showed off the new ColdFusion Builder app which will allow for non-developers to create CF pages without knowing a lot about code. We have a large gallery of photos of the event and we thank Marc Salsberry and our own co-manager Michele Weisbart for taking the great snapshots!

We’re hoping to announce another big event for October and we’ll let you know more about it later this summer.

Welcome to LAdobe V2.0!

It’s been a while since Sunil Rampersad won our Website Nightmares competition last December, but now we’re ready to finally debut version 2.0 of the new LAdobe site! And a lot has changed. Besides the drastic switch in appearance, the new site features a history of the group, a complete list of sponsors and links to all other LA area Adobe User Groups. We even have a Twitter feed now and we post our latest Tweets directly on the sidebar of each LAdobe page. Photo Galleries will be a lot different too as you’ll see once we post photos of our June 17th Flex some Cold Beer and ColdFusion event with Joshua Adams. Most importantly, we now have Forums! Yes, you can finally ask your Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, ColdFusion and even legacy programs like Director and even for you old-timers, Freehand.

We’ve worked really hard to make this site one of your most important resources for the LA Tech and Creative Community and we like to think we’ve succeeded. But we know better. We expect a lot of you to have ideas for even more improvements to the site and we want to hear them. Please send us your feedback and we’ll look into how feasible it is to make this site even better than it already is.

We are planning later this summer to do a session on the making of the new website. More information about when will be displayed shortly.

Meantime, enjoy the new LAdobe v2.0!

Adobe MAX Registration Now Open

Adobe’s annual MAX User Conference is hitting Southern California once again! Many of you may recall that MAX was in Anaheim four years ago and this time it’s hitting downtown LA at LA Live. The conference attracts approximately 5,000 designers and developers and we want LA to make an impressive showing! Registration is now open for the event and we want you to be there! More importantly, if you do plan to attend, we want to make sure that the LA Adobe area User Groups are recognized for bringing its’ members to the event. So make sure you click the banner on the right (above the search box) or just Register for Adobe MAX 2009 here. It may be a pricey conference but it will be four days and nights you will never forget.
