BrowserLab and Firebug now together at last

Adobe and the developers of the popular web design tool for Firefox browsers, Firebug announced on Friday a new Firefox plugin that will sync Adobe’s Browser Lab with Firebug. If you’re web developer, this is a big deal as it will allow for users to send the current state of their web page in Firebug (including design and CSS tweaks made directly in Firebug) to BrowserLab. This lets them see how their changes look across different browsers, along with enhancing their workflow with BrowserLab.

Additional features include Smart Align which screenshots can now be automatically aligned to a particular point of a page, for browsers that align pages differently. This helps users zero-in on problem areas of their pages. Also, Safari 5 has been added to BrowserLab’s portfolio of browsers.

Adobe and its’ Flash Platform team is currently running a feature planning survey across Flex SDK, Flash Builder, Catalyst, and Flash Professional users.

The goal of this survey is to gauge the customer’s current usage and satisfaction with Flex and Flash tooling, and to understand how our own users prioritize the next generation of features. This survey will help determine the future direction of Flash, Flash Catalyst and Flex. The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes. You can take the survey here.
