Parking is available on the street for free after 6pm in some spots with meters elsewhere. For this month’s presentation of the new year, we’re pleased to be working with the LA Illustrator User Group by having their co-manager, Andrew Kutchera present to us. Andrew has wowed the LA Illustrator crowd with his presentations and we’re glad he can now present to our audience. Andrew will focus on the usage of using Illustrator with Typography and explain how to best use the methods. In his talk, Andrew will discuss ways to get your audience’s attention, using only type, review techniques – from straightforward to subversive – which make your message compelling. analyze the variety of methods to structure text and lastly, Andrew will explore the best typeface choices for both text and headlines. In addition, our own co-manager, Michele Weisbart of Michele Designs and FIDM, will start off the evening by showing how to create realistic textures using Illustrator instead of Photoshop.
We’ll have a number of Illustrator related books to give away from all our major publishing sponsors as well Photoshop plugins from Alien Skin Software. We’ll also have free beverages from Function as well. So we hope to see you by the beach at Working Village on the 24th!
