Join LAdobe on Thursday night, August 22nd at 7pm at at Indie Desk on 816 South Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles. Admission to the event is totally free and parking will be available at meters as well as various parking lots and garages in Downtown Los Angeles.
For this event, we’re going to showcase that Flash is not at all dead. It’s just evolving. Many clients and web developers think that because of the rise of iOS devices and HTML5 that Flash is now passe. That’s just not the case. Flash is still a very important part of your toolbox and for this event, we’re going to show various examples of how Flash can still be used to create compelling online presentations.
For animators, our own Adam Bell and independent animator Ed Olson will show you some of the tools and techniques they use to create compelling animations for online and traditional broadcast video.
For developers, LA Phone Gap’s George McKinney will showcase some of his work for Adobe AIR for Mobile. He’ll cross-platform iOS, Android, BlackBerry using Flash Builder as well as Flash Professional. Plus he’ll show off the new Adobe-supported Away3D Foundation for gaming.
Well have food courtesy of LunarPages Web Hosting and refreshments courtesy of eBoost, Joia and Clearly Kombucha and prizes (even new Flash books!) from our various book sponsors. If you thought Flash was dead, we’re about to prove you very wrong. We look forward to seeing you on August 23rd.
